23th

Today, William Uyen is posted in No.78 squadron, as Bomb Aimer.

One day earlier October 22 1943, Air gunnery leader DFC P/O J.D. Lane signed in,

Jack Lane later said; ' Bill Uyen, from London, Ontario, was a delightful Canadian.
We had provisionally arranged that if we were shot down, we would try to team up to escape.
He was of Dutch extraction, and my German and knowledge of Germany might have helped,
but I suspect that was only wishful thinking.'
